看哪，主－萬軍之耶和華以驚嚇削去樹枝；長高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。稠密的樹林，他要用鐵器砍下；黎巴嫩的樹木必被大能者伐倒。

大聲呼叫說：『伐倒這樹！砍下枝子！搖掉葉子！拋散果子！使走獸離開樹下，飛鳥躲開樹枝。

因為我們的神乃是烈火。

「人子啊，葡萄樹比別樣樹有甚麼強處？葡萄枝比眾樹枝有甚麼好處？其上可以取木料做甚麼工用，可以取來做釘子掛甚麼器皿嗎？看哪，已經拋在火中當作柴燒，火既燒了兩頭，中間也被燒了，還有益於工用嗎？

人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩三個見證人，尚且不得憐恤而死，

因為日子要到，人必說：『不生育的，和未曾懷胎的，未曾乳養嬰孩的，有福了！』那時，人要向大山說：倒在我們身上！向小山說：遮蓋我們！「這些事既行在有汁水的樹上，那枯乾的樹將來怎麼樣呢？」
