他們開始控告他說：「我們見這人煽惑我們的國民，禁止我們納稅給凱撒，並說自己是基督，是王。」

現在，看哪，這就是你們所選的、你們所求的王。看哪，耶和華已經為你們立王了。

於是彼拉多釋放巴拉巴給他們，把耶穌鞭打後交給人釘十字架。
