Jesus’ disciples asked him,“ Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”So he sent out two of his disciples. He told them,“ Go into the city. A man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.He will enter a house. Say to its owner,‘ The Teacher asks,“ Where is my guest room? Where can I eat the Passover meal with my disciples?” ’He will show you a large upstairs room. It will have furniture and will be ready. Prepare for us to eat there.”The disciples left and went into the city. They found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover meal.

Take care of them until the 14th day of the month. Then the whole community of Israel must kill them when the sun goes down.

It was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The disciples came to Jesus. They asked,“ Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”He replied,“ Go into the city to a certain man. Tell him,‘ The Teacher says,“ My time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover at your house with my disciples.” ’ ”So the disciples did what Jesus had told them to do. They prepared the Passover meal.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was near.
