When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour— when darkness reigns.”

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high[ places].

To open their eyes,[ and] to turn[ them] from darkness to light, and[ from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated[ us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,

And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to[ give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called[ the mount] of Olives.And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.Therefore rejoice,[ ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines[ were] there; and[ there were] upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with[ all his] might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that[ were] therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than[ they] which he slew in his life.

That the triumphing of the wicked[ is] short, and the joy of the hypocrite[ but] for a moment?

Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
