“ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.

“ Simon, Simon! Satan has asked to sift all of you disciples like wheat.

“ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat,

“ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.

“ Simon, Simon, look out. Satan has asked to sift you like wheat.

“ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to sift you men like wheat;

And the Lord said,“ Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:

“ Simon, Simon, look out! Satan has asked to sift you like wheat.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired[ to have] you, that he may sift[ you] as wheat:

“ Simon, Simon, pay attention! Satan has demanded to have you all, to sift you like wheat,

The Lord said,“ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,

One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them.The Lord said to Satan,“ Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord,“ From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”Then the Lord said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”“ Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied.“ Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”The Lord said to Satan,“ Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. (niv)

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:“ Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. (niv)

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (niv)

“ For I will give the command, and I will shake the people of Israel among all the nations as grain is shaken in a sieve, and not a pebble will reach the ground. (niv)

On another day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.And the Lord said to Satan,“ Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord,“ From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”Then the Lord said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”“ Skin for skin!” Satan replied.“ A man will give all he has for his own life.But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”The Lord said to Satan,“ Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.” (niv)

“ Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered,“ you are worried and upset about many things, (niv)

He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him,“ Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” (niv)
