过两天就是逾越节和除酵节了。祭司长们和经文士们在图谋怎样用诡计拘捕耶稣，把他杀掉。不过他们说：“不可在节日期间，免得民众发生骚乱。”

犹太人的逾越节快到了。许多人从乡下上耶路撒冷去，要在节日前洁净自己。他们寻找耶稣，站在圣殿里彼此谈论说：“你们怎么看，他绝不会来过节吧？”原来，祭司长们和法利赛人早就下令，如果有人知道耶稣在哪里，就要报告，好抓住他。

你们应当把那旧的酵母除净，好使你们成为新的面团，就像你们是无酵的那样；因为实际上，我们逾越节的羔羊——基督已经被献上了。所以让我们来守这节，不可用旧的酵母，也不可用恶毒、恶意的酵母，而要用真诚、真实的无酵饼。

除酵节的第一日，就是人们宰杀逾越节羔羊的那一天，耶稣的门徒们问他：“你要我们到哪里去预备，好让你吃逾越节的晚餐呢？”

“你们知道，过两天就是逾越节，人子要被交出去钉上十字架。”那时，祭司长们和民间的长老们聚集在叫该亚法的大祭司的宅院里，商议要用诡计拘捕耶稣，把他杀掉。不过他们说：“不可在节日期间，免得民中发生骚乱。”
