如今小子們，住在主裏面吧。這樣，主無論甚麼時候顯現，我們總可以有坦然無懼的心，在他御臨的時候、不至於羞愧而不敢接近他了。

所以你們要儆醒，因為你們不知道那日子或那時辰。

耶穌對他們講一個比喻，論到人應當堅持禱告，不可喪志。

你們要謹慎，要覺醒着；因為你們不知道那時機是甚麼時候。

願那能守護你們不失腳、使你們站在他榮耀之前、無瑕無疵、歡歡樂樂地、

但萬事的結局近了，所以你們要神志清明，要冷靜戒備着，以便禱告。

主人來了，看見僕人儆醒着，那些僕人就有福啊！我實在告訴你們，他必束上帶，叫他們坐席，自己倒上前去服事他們呢！他或是二更天、或是三更天來，看見這樣，那些人就有福了。這一點你們要曉得：家主若知道賊甚麼鐘點要來，他就不讓他的房屋給挖透了。你們呢、也該有準備，因為當你們想不到的鐘點，人子就來了。』

故此你們要拿起上帝的軍裝，好在險惡的日子能抵擋得住；並且既作成了一切事，還能站穩。所以你們要站穩，你們的腰用真誠束好了，義的胸甲穿上了，

他哪是對全能者有絕妙樂趣，時刻呼求上帝呢？

不住地禱告；

這正是上帝公義審判的明證，要使你們算為配得起上帝之國的；你們就是為着這國而受苦的。因為上帝所看為公義的就是：當主耶穌從天上同他有能力的天使在火燄中顯示出來時將患難報應那加患難給你們的人，而將鬆息還報你們、連同我們、受患難緊逼的人、

但他來的日子誰能當得起呢？他顯現時、誰能站立得住呢？『因為他像煉金之人的火，像漂布之人的鹼。

藉着各樣的禱告和祈求、時時刻刻用心靈祈禱；以十二分的恆心專在這事上覺醒着，為眾聖徒祈求，也替我求，使我在開口時、得到適當的話語，可以放膽無懼播知福音的奧祕

他是個敬虔人，他同全家都敬畏上帝；他對人民多行施捨，時常祈求上帝。

你們要恆心專務於禱告，要在這上頭用感謝心儆醒着。

但是你呢、你凡事都要冷靜戒備着，要能喫苦，作傳福音人的工、來盡你的職分。

因此當審判時、惡人必站不住：在義人會中、罪人必立不住腳。

但那算為配得「他世」的、配得起從死人中起來之復活的、也不娶也不嫁。
