He answered,“ I tell you, if they keep silent, the very stones will cry out!”

曰、我語汝、此輩若緘默、諸石將呼矣、○

答曰、我告爾、若此眾緘默、石將發聲而呼、

耶穌應曰：『予實語爾、彼即噤口、石亦鳴矣。』

“ I tell you,” he replied,“ if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

Jesus replied,“ I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!”

But He answered and said to them,“ I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

And he answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out.

He answered,“ I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out!”

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

For the stones in the walls will cry out, and the wooden rafters will answer back.

Indeed you will go out with joy; you will be led along in peace; the mountains and hills will give a joyful shout before you, and all the trees in the field will clap their hands.

and don’t think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!

Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout!

But when the chief priests and the experts in the law saw the wonderful things he did and heard the children crying out in the temple courts,“ Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignantand said to him,“ Do you hear what they are saying?” Jesus said to them,“ Yes. Have you never read,‘ Out of the mouths of children and nursing infants you have prepared praise for yourself’?”

Let the sea and everything in it shout, along with the world and those who live in it!Let the rivers clap their hands! Let the mountains sing in unisonbefore the LORD! For he comes to judge the earth! He judges the world fairly, and the nations in a just manner.

Just then the temple curtain was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks were split apart.And tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had died were raised.( They came out of the tombs after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.)Now when the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and what took place, they were extremely terrified and said,“ Truly this one was God’s Son!”

When Israel left Egypt, when the family of Jacob left a foreign nation behind,Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom.The sea looked and fled; the Jordan River turned back.The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River?Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills?Tremble, O earth, before the Lord– before the God of Jacob,who turned a rock into a pool of water, a hard rock into springs of water!

and if he turned to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah when he condemned them to destruction, having appointed them to serve as an example to future generations of the ungodly,

Now from noon until three, darkness came over all the land.
