主人把他叫来，对他说：‘我听见关于你的是怎么一回事呢？把你管理的帐目交代清楚，因为你不能再作管家了。’那管家心里说：‘主人不要我再作管家了，我作什么才好呢？锄地吧，没有力气！讨饭吧，怕羞！我知道要怎么作了，好使人在我离开管家的职务以后，接我到他们家里去。’于是把欠他主人债的人，一个一个地叫来，问头一个说：‘你欠我主人多少？’他说：‘四千公升油。’管家说：‘拿你的欠单去，快坐下写二千。’又问一个说：‘你欠多少？’他说：‘四万公升麦子。’管家说：‘拿你的欠单去，写三万。’主人就夸奖这不义的管家作事机警；因为在应付自己的世事上，今世之子比光明之子更精明。我告诉你们，要用不义的钱财（“钱财”亚兰文是“玛门”）去结交朋友，好叫钱财无用的时候，他们可以接你们到永恒的帐棚里。在最小的事上忠心的，在大事上也忠心；在最小的事上不义的，在大事上也不义。如果你们在不义的钱财上不忠心，谁还把真实的钱财托付给你们呢？如果你们在别人的东西上不忠心，谁还把你们自己的东西交给你们呢？“一个家仆不能服事两个主人；他若不是恨这个爱那个，就是忠于这个轻视那个。你们不能服事神，又服事金钱。”

这样，你为什么批评你的弟兄呢？为什么又轻看你的弟兄呢？我们都要站在神的审判台前；因为经上记着：“主说，我指着我的永生起誓：万膝必向我跪拜，万口必称颂神。”这样看来，我们各人都要把自己的事向神交代。

这样，人应该把我们看作基督的仆人，神奥秘的事的管家。对于管家的要求，就是要他忠心。我被你们论断，或被人间法庭审判，我都认为是极小的事，连我自己也不论断自己。我虽然问心无愧，却不能因此自以为义，因为判断我的是主。所以时候还没有到，你们不要批评，直等到主来；他要照出黑暗中的隐情，显明人心里的动机。那时，各人要从神那里得著称赞。

但那不知道的，虽然作了该受责打的事，也必少受责打。多给谁就向谁多取，多托谁就向谁多要。

过了很久，那些仆人的主人回来了，要和他们算帐。

因此，天国好像一个王，要和他的仆人算帐，刚算的时候，有人带了一个欠下六千万银币的人来。他没有钱偿还，主人就下令叫人把他和他的妻子儿女，以及一切所有的都卖掉，用来偿还。那仆人就跪下拜他，说：‘请宽容我，我会把一切还给你的。’主人动了慈心，把那仆人放了，并且免了他的债。那仆人出来，遇见一个欠了他一百个银币的仆人，就抓住他，扼着他的喉咙，说：‘把你欠我的钱还给我。’那和他一同作仆人的就跪下求他，说：‘请宽容我，我会还给你的。’他却不肯，反而把他带走，关在监里，等他把所欠的还清。其他的仆人看见这事，非常难过，就去向主人报告这一切事情。于是主人叫他来，对他说：‘你这个恶仆，你求我，我就免了你欠我的一切。难道你不应该怜悯你的同伴，好像我怜悯你一样吗？’于是主人大怒，把他送去服刑，等他把所欠的一切还清。如果你们各人不从心里饶恕你的弟兄，我的天父也必这样待你们。”
