我語汝、必速伸之矣、雖然、人子至、將見信於世乎、○

吾語汝、冤之伸也忽焉、人子至、詎見信於世乎、○

我告爾、必速伸其冤矣、但人子臨時、豈見世有信德乎、○

予實語爾、天主必迅予昭雪矣。雖然、人子重臨之日、猶能見篤信之德、存於人世否乎？』

I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

I tell you, God will see that things are made right for them. He will make sure it happens quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find people on earth who have faith?”

I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

I tell you that he will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

“ Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man.They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot— they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building,but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit.Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord! I have fled to you for refuge.

Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you.For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.While people are saying,“ There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten.Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
