因為上帝之道是活的，是有效力的；比一切雙刃的刀還快，甚至於人的魂與靈、骨節與骨髓之分際、都能刺入；連人心中的思想與念頭、也能辨明。被創造者在上帝面前、沒有一個是不顯露的；萬物在我們必須和他算賬的主眼前、都是赤裸裸、捉襟肘見的。

就自己心裏議論說：「我沒有地方收集我的果實、要怎麼辦呢？」

那管家心裏說：「我主人要把管家職事給我撤了，我要作甚麼？鋤地呢、無力；叫化呢、怕羞！
