As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

Jesus was approaching Jericho. A blind man was sitting by the side of the road begging.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road.

Now as Jesus was approaching Jericho, a man who was blind was sitting by the road, begging.

Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.

And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying,“ Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?”

And as they went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed him.And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”And stopping, Jesus called them and said,“ What do you want me to do for you?”They said to him,“ Lord, let our eyes be opened.”And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.

He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and on them he has set the world.

And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside.And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”And Jesus stopped and said,“ Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him,“ Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.”And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus.And Jesus said to him,“ What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him,“ Rabbi, let me recover my sight.”And Jesus said to him,“ Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

He entered Jericho and was passing through.

And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple.
