So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say,‘ We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.’”

Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said,‘ This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me,and they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

Can a person rob God? You indeed are robbing me, but you say,‘ How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and contributions!

“ Be careful not to display your righteousness merely to be seen by people. Otherwise you have no reward with your Father in heaven.

“ Speak to all the people and priests of the land as follows:‘ When you fasted and lamented in the fifth and seventh months through all these seventy years, did you truly fast for me– for me, indeed?And now when you eat and drink, are you not doing so for yourselves?’”

“ Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded! By what principle? Of works? No, but by the principle of faith!

If, however, he does exchange it, both the original animal and its substitute will be holy. It must not be redeemed.’”
