因我此子、死而復生、失而又得也、遂與眾同樂、

昔爾若死、皆陷於罪愆、所行乃循今世之俗、從在空中掌權之君、即今誘惑悖逆不順者之神、昔我眾亦在其內、逞肉體之慾、隨身心所欲而行、本為天主所怒、與他人無異、惟天主之矜恤甚宏、以大愛愛我儕、當我儕陷於罪愆若死之時、乃使我儕同基督復活、爾曹以恩得救矣、又天主因基督耶穌、使我儕與之同復活、同坐於天、天主因基督耶穌、向我儕大施仁慈、欲以其恩寵之豐厚、示於後世、蓋爾曹因信、以恩得救、此非由己、乃天主所賜也、亦非由功、免人自誇、蓋我儕為天主所造、在基督內被造者、使我得行善事、即天主預定我儕所當行者也、○

主曰、此基加恩非爾栽種、非爾培養、一夜發生、一夜枯槁、爾尚愛惜、況尼尼微大邑、其中孩提、不識左右者、有十二萬餘、亦有牲畜眾多、我能不顧惜乎、

求主使我得聽歡欣喜樂之聲、使主所折磨之形骸、可以踴躍、

主所救贖者必返故土、謳歌而歸郇、永以欣喜為加首之冕、必咸歡欣喜樂、而憂傷歎息、盡歸無有、

誰為智者而明此事乎、孰具聰明而知之乎、主之道無不正、義人履之、罪人顛仆其中、或作主之道無不公正善人履之惡人顛仆其上誰有智慧能明此理誰有聰明能知此事

非也、當言天主為真、世人皆偽、如經載云、在爾言時得稱義、在爾被審時獲勝、

人子至亦食亦飲、爾又言其嗜食好酒、與稅吏及罪人為友、

亦使異邦人、因受矜恤而欽崇天主、如經載云、因此、我必在異邦中讚美主、歌頌主名、又曰、異邦人乎、爾當與主之民同樂、又曰、爾異邦人當讚主、萬民當頌主、又以賽亞曰、耶西之根將萌、興而轄異邦人者將至、或作又以賽亞曰將有自耶西根而萌之枝即將興以轄異邦人者異邦人必仰望之、願賜人有望之天主、使爾以信而得喜樂、平安充心、賴聖神之大能、希望益甚、○

我儕知律法所言、為律法下之人言之、以塞諸口、使舉世服罪於天主前、
