But whenever you give a banquet, invite people who are poor, who have disabilities, who are limping, and people who are blind;

Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

those who are blind receive sight and those who limp walk, those with leprosy are cleansed and those who are deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Then those who limp will leap like a deer, And the tongue of those who cannot speak will shout for joy. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.

For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my dinner.’ ”

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,

He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap To seat them with nobles, And He gives them a seat of honor as an inheritance; For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them.

Now the king was angry, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire.Then he* said to his slaves,‘ The wedding feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

“ But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said,‘ Son, go work today in the vineyard.’But he replied,‘ I do not want to.’ Yet afterward he regretted it and went.And the man came to his second son and said the same thing; and he replied,‘ I will, sir’; and yet he did not go.Which of the two did the will of his father?” They* said,“ The first.” Jesus* said to them,“ Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you.

And He answered and said to them,“ Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: people who were blind receive sight, people who limped walk, people with leprosy are cleansed and people who were deaf hear, dead people are raised up, and people who are poor have the gospel preached to them.And blessed is anyone who does not take offense at Me.”

Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished.And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who were victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God.And they* sang the song of Moses, the bond servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,“ Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!Who will not fear You, Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For all the nations will come and worship before You, For Your righteous acts have been revealed.”After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened,and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out of the temple, clothed in linen, clean and bright, and their chests wrapped with golden sashes.And one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

Your ship’s tackle hangs slack; It cannot hold the base of its mast firmly, Nor spread out the sail. Then the prey of an abundant spoil will be divided; Those who limp will take the plunder.

See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying,“ Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.”

Wisdom shouts in the street, She raises her voice in the public square;At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she declares her sayings:“ How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?Turn to my rebuke, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention;And you neglected all my advice And did not want my rebuke;

Obey your leaders and submit to them— for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account— so that they may do this with joy, not groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you.

“ Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Therefore, those who had been scattered went through places preaching the word.Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming the Christ to them.The crowds were paying attention with one mind to what was being said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing.For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them shouting with a loud voice; and many who had been paralyzed or limped on crutches were healed.

and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Now from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified,“ He told me all the things that I have done.”So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.Many more believed because of His word;and they were saying to the woman,“ It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One truly is the Savior of the world.”

From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.

The Pharisees then replied to them,“ You have not been led astray too, have you?Not one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?But this crowd that does not know the Law is accursed!”

The Spirit and the bride say,“ Come.” And let the one who hears say,“ Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires, take the water of life without cost.

When the apostles returned, they gave an account to Him of all that they had done. And taking them with Him, He withdrew privately to a city called Bethsaida.

On top of the heights beside the way, Where the paths meet, she takes her stand;Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, she cries out:“ To you, people, I call, And my voice is to mankind.

So it was broken on that day, and so the afflicted of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the Lord.

So David’s young men made their way back and returned; and they came and informed him in accordance with all these words.

So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their master all that had happened.

Then the disciples came and* said to Him,“ Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?”

“ Roam about through the streets of Jerusalem, And look and take notice. And seek in her public squares, If you can find a person, If there is one who does justice, who seeks honesty, Then I will forgive her.

So I pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, therefore also the afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Favor, and the other I called Union; so I pastured the flock.

She has sent out her attendants, she calls out From the tops of the heights of the city:“ Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks understanding she says,

Kiss the Son, that He not be angry and you perish on the way, For His wrath may be kindled quickly. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

For my sides are filled with burning, And there is no healthy part in my flesh.
