And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

And that which fell among the thorns, these are they that have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.

to whom he said, This is the rest, give ye rest to him that is weary; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.Therefore shall the word of Jehovah be unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

And all vision is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I cannot, for it is sealed:and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I am not learned.

Then I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they know not the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God:I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they know the way of Jehovah, and the law of their God. But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk therein.And I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet; but they said, We will not hearken.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;and the rest laid hold on his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
