For the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished, Indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be eliminated,Who cause a person to be indicted by a word, And set a trap for the arbitrator at the gate, And defraud the one in the right with meaningless arguments.

They make firm for themselves an evil purpose; They talk of setting snares secretly; They say,“ Who can see them?”They devise injustices, saying,“ We are ready with a well conceived plot”; For the inward thought and the heart of a person are deep.

The wicked spies upon the righteous And seeks to kill him.

And so they watched Him closely, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, in order that they might catch Him in some statement, so that they could hand Him over to the jurisdiction and authority of the governor.

And when he comes to see me, he speaks empty words; His heart gathers wickedness to itself; When he goes outside, he tells it.

Now the scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse Him.

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say,‘ Behold, a gluttonous man and a heavy drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’And yet wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”Now one of the Pharisees was requesting Him to eat with him, and He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, respected by all the people, stood up in the Council and gave orders to put the men outside for a short time.
