耶穌說：「你若願意作完全人，去變賣你所擁有的，分給窮人，就必有財寶在天上；然後來跟從我。」

耶穌聽見了，就對他說：「你還缺少一件：要變賣你一切所有的，分給窮人，就必有財寶在天上；你還要來跟從我。」

凡為自己積財，在上帝面前卻不富足的，也是這樣。」

又賣了田產和家業，照每一個人所需要的分給他們。

他們當中沒有一個缺乏的，因為凡有田產房屋的都賣了，把所賣的錢拿來，放在使徒腳前，照每人所需要的，分給每人。

「不要為自己在地上積蓄財寶；地上有蟲子咬，能銹壞，也有賊挖洞來偷。要在天上積蓄財寶；天上沒有蟲子咬，不會銹壞，也沒有賊挖洞來偷。因為你的財寶在哪裏，你的心也在哪裏。」

我又告訴你們，要藉着那不義的錢財結交朋友，到了錢財無用的時候，他們可以接你們到永遠的住處去。

他們在患難中受大考驗的時候，仍然滿有喜樂，在極度貧窮中還格外顯出他們樂捐的慷慨。

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的上帝。又要囑咐他們行善，在好事上富足，甘心施捨，樂意分享，為自己積存財富，而為將來打美好的根基，好使他們能把握那真正的生命。

你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；領工錢的，領了工錢卻裝入有破洞的袋中。

他說這話，並不是關心窮人，而是因為他是個賊，又管錢囊，常偷取錢囊中所存的。

注意！你們這些富足人哪，要為將要臨到你們身上的災難哭泣、號咷。你們的財物腐爛了，你們的衣服被蟲子蛀了。你們的金銀都生銹了；這銹要證明你們的不是，又要像火一樣吞吃你們的肉。你們在這末世只知道積蓄錢財。

只要把杯盤裏面的施捨給人，對你們來說一切就都潔淨了。
