耶稣听了，就告诉他：“你还缺少一件，应当变卖你一切所有的，分给穷人，你就必定有财宝在天上，而且你还要来跟从我。”

凡为自己积财，在神面前却不富足的，也是这样。”

并且变卖产业和财物，按照各人的需要分给他们。

他们中间没有一个有缺乏的，因为凡有田产房屋的都卖了，把得到的钱拿来，放在使徒脚前，照着各人的需要来分配。

“不可为自己在地上积聚财宝，因为地上有虫蛀，有锈侵蚀，也有贼挖洞来偷。要为自己积聚财宝在天上，那里没有虫蛀锈蚀，也没有贼挖洞来偷。你的财宝在哪里，你的心也在哪里。

我告诉你们，要用不义的钱财（“钱财”亚兰文是“玛门”）去结交朋友，好叫钱财无用的时候，他们可以接你们到永恒的帐棚里。

他们在患难中受到极大的考验的时候，他们满溢的喜乐和极度的贫乏，汇流出丰厚的慷慨来。

你要嘱咐那些今世富有的人，叫他们不要心高气傲，也不要寄望在浮动的财富上，却要仰望那厚赐百物给我们享用的神。又要嘱咐他们行善，在善事上富足，慷慨好施。这样，就为自己在来世积聚财富，作美好的基础，好叫他们能够得着那真正的生命。

你们撒的种多，收割的却少；你们吃，却吃不饱；你们喝，却喝不足；你们穿衣服，却穿不暖；得工钱的，却把工钱放在破袋里。”

他说这话，并不是因为他关怀穷人，而是因为他是个贼，又带着钱囊，常取其中所存的。

你们富有的人哪，应当为那将要临到你们的灾祸哭泣哀号。你们的财物朽坏了，你们的衣服给蛀了，你们的金银生锈，这锈要成为控告你们的铁证，又要像火一样吞吃你们的肉。你们竟然在这末后的日子积聚财宝。

只要把里面的施舍出去，你们的一切就都洁净了。
