你們要把我私下告訴你們的當眾講出來，你們要在屋頂上把聽到的悄悄話宣告出來。

我告訴你們，在審判之日，人將為自己所說的每一句閒話負責，

智者口出恩言，愚人的話毀滅自己。愚人開口是愚昧，閉口是邪惡狂妄。

亞當的第七代子孫以諾曾經針對這些人說預言：「看啊！主率領祂千萬的聖者一同降臨，要審判所有的人，按不虔不敬的罪人所行的惡事和他們褻瀆上帝的話定他們的罪。」

不可咒詛君王，連這樣的意念都不可有，也不可在臥室裡咒詛富豪，因為天空的飛鳥會通風報信，有翅膀的會把事情四處傳開。

兇手黎明起來，殺害貧苦的人，夜晚又去做賊。姦夫的眼睛盼著黃昏，心想，『沒人會看見我』，並把臉蒙起來。
