耶稣对他们讲了一个比喻，说他们必须常常祷告，不要丧胆。他说：“某城里有一个审判官，他既不敬畏神，也不尊重人。那城里有一个寡妇，经常到他那里去，说：‘请为我向我的对头讨个公道。’“法官一直不肯，但是后来心里说：‘即使我不敬畏神，也不尊重人，还是因为这寡妇不断地烦扰我，我就为她讨个公道，免得她一直来，到最后使我疲惫不堪！’”主接着说：“你们当听这个不公义的审判官所说的！难道神绝不会给那些他所拣选、日夜向他呼求的人主持公道吗？难道神会耽误帮助他们吗？我告诉你们：他会很快地给他们主持公道。不过人子回来的时候，难道在地上能找到这样的信仰吗？”

那人说：“天亮了，让我走吧！”雅各说：“你不祝福我，我就不让你走。”

弟兄们，藉着我们的主耶稣基督、藉着圣灵的爱，我恳求你们与我一同竭力为我向神祷告：

这时候，忽然来了一个住在那地区的迦南妇人，她呼叫说：“主啊，大卫的后裔，可怜我吧！我的女儿有鬼魔附身，痛苦万分。”耶稣一句话也不回应，他的门徒们上前来求他，说：“这妇人一直跟在我们后面喊叫，请让她走吧。”耶稣回答说：“我奉差派，只到以色列家迷失的羊那里去。”那妇人来拜他，说：“主啊，求你帮助我！”耶稣回答说：“拿儿女的饼扔给小狗，是不合宜的。”妇人说：“是的，主啊！不过连小狗也吃得到主人桌子上掉下来的碎渣！”于是耶稣回答她，说：“哦，妇人哪，你这信心是大的！照你所愿的，给你成全吧。”从那一刻起，她的女儿就痊愈了。

以帕弗拉问候你们；他来自你们那里，是基督耶稣的奴仆；他在祷告中，总是为你们竭力祈求：愿你们成熟、站立得住，在神的一切旨意中确信不疑；

为了这事，我三次求主使这根刺离开我。
