如果他们借着认识我们的主和救主耶稣基督，已经摆脱了世俗的污秽，但后来又被这些事缠住、俘虏了，他们的处境会比以前更糟糕。他们明知道正路，却背弃了传给他们的神圣诫命，这样倒不如不知道的好。俗语说得好：“狗转过身来，吃自己所吐的；猪洗干净了，又回到污泥里去打滚。”这些话正好用在他们身上。

后来，耶稣在圣殿里遇见他，对他说：“现在你已经完全好了，别再犯罪了，免得你遭遇更不幸的事。”

因为我们知道了真理以后，若仍然故意犯罪，就再没有赎罪祭了，只有可怕的审判和烧灭敌对者的烈火等候我们。人违犯摩西的律法，经两三个人指证后，尚且被毫不留情地处死，更何况人践踏上帝的儿子，轻看那使人圣洁的立约之血，又藐视赐人恩典的圣灵？这等人该受多么重的刑罚啊！我们知道上帝说过：“申冤在我，我必报应。”祂又说：“主要审判祂的百姓。”落在永活上帝的手中是可怕的！

有些人曾蒙上帝光照，尝过天赐恩典的滋味，有份于圣灵，尝过上帝之道的甘美，领悟到永世的权能，却背弃了真道，让他们重新悔改是不可能的。因为他们等于把上帝的儿子重新钉在十字架上，使祂再度公开受辱。一块经常受到雨水滋润的田地若为耕种的人长出庄稼来，就蒙上帝赐福；若长出来的尽是荆棘和蒺藜，就毫无价值，它会面临被咒诅的危险，最后必遭焚烧。

“虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！因为你们走遍海洋和陆地去引人入教，等人入了教，却使他沦为地狱之子，比你们还坏一倍。

铲除离弃我、不寻求我、不求问我的人。”

这些人在你们的爱宴中是败类。他们肆无忌惮地吃喝，是只顾喂养自己的牧人；是没有雨的云，随风飘荡；是深秋不结果子的树，被连根拔起，彻底枯死。他们是海中的狂涛，翻动着自己可耻的泡沫，是流荡的星星，有幽幽黑暗永远留给他们。
