所以我告訴你們，一切的罪和褻瀆的話都可以得到赦免，但褻瀆聖靈的罪必得不到赦免。說話得罪人子的，還可以得到赦免；但那些說話冒犯聖靈的，今生永世都得不到赦免。「好樹結好果子，壞樹結壞果子，看果子就能知道樹的好壞。你們這些毒蛇的後代！你們心裡邪惡，又怎能講出好話呢？因為心裡充滿的，口裡自然會說出來。

耶穌說：「撒旦，走開！聖經上說，『要敬拜主——你的上帝，單單事奉祂。』」

有人卻說：「祂是靠鬼王別西卜趕鬼。」

同樣，人的舌頭雖然很小，卻能說誇大的話。看啊，小火星能點燃大森林。舌頭就是火，是我們身體上的一個充滿邪惡的世界，能玷污人的全身，足以毀掉人的一生，它是從地獄點燃的火。自然界中的各類走獸、飛禽、爬蟲、水族都可以被馴服，也已經被人類馴服了，但無人能馴服自己的舌頭，因為舌頭是個無法控制的邪惡之物，充滿了致命的毒氣。
