Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court. (niv)

He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord. (niv)

He is to be called John.”They said to her,“ There is no one among your relatives who has that name.”Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child.He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote,“ His name is John.” (niv)

“ Don’t be alarmed,” he said.“ You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. (niv)

But Jesus immediately said to them:“ Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” (niv)

Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. (niv)
