他要按手在燔祭牲的頭上、為自己行除罪禮，便蒙悅納。他要在永恆主面前宰小公牛，亞倫子孫做祭司的要將血獻上，將血潑在會棚出入處的祭壇四圍。

永恆主對摩西說：『你要告訴以色列人說：若有人在永恆主所吩咐不可行的事上、誤犯了罪、去行其一件；若是受膏的祭司犯了罪、以致人民有了罪責，那麼他就應當為了他所犯的罪將一隻牛、是完全沒有殘疾的小公牛、供獻與永恆主為解罪祭。他要把公牛牽到會棚的出入處，在永恆主面前、按手在公牛頭上，在永恆主面前把公牛宰了。受膏的祭司要取些公牛的血，帶到會棚；祭司要把指頭蘸在血裏，在永恆主面前、對着聖所的帷帳彈點兒血七次。祭司要把點兒血抹在會棚內永恆主面前香壇的四角上，又把公牛所有的血都倒在會棚的出入處燔祭壇腳那裏。他要把解罪祭的公牛一切脂肪都取起來；就是把蓋臟腑上的脂肪和臟腑上的一切脂肪、兩個腰子、和腰子上的脂肪、靠近腰兩旁的脂肪、和肝上的附屬物、連腰子、都取下來，（正如從平安祭的牛取起來一樣）；祭司要把這些祭品燻在燔祭壇上。至於公牛的皮和所有的肉、連頭帶腿、以及臟腑和糞：就是整隻公牛，卻要搬出營外、潔淨的地方、倒灰的所在、在柴上用火燒牠：總要在倒灰的地方燒。
