“ Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:‘ May the Lord bless you and protect you.May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine.Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing:“ Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered.

May the king’s name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun shines. May all nations be blessed through him and bring him praise.

Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, and to stand before the Lord as his ministers, and to pronounce blessings in his name. These are their duties to this day.

He stood and in a loud voice blessed the entire congregation of Israel:

But Melchizedek, who was not a descendant of Levi, collected a tenth from Abraham. And Melchizedek placed a blessing upon Abraham, the one who had already received the promises of God.And without question, the person who has the power to give a blessing is greater than the one who is blessed.

Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses. Aaron and his descendants were set apart to dedicate the most holy things, to offer sacrifices in the Lord’s presence, to serve the Lord, and to pronounce blessings in his name forever.

Then the king turned around to the entire community of Israel standing before him and gave this blessing:

When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.”
