然而我为了我名的缘故缩手，没有这样作，免得我名在列国的人眼中被亵渎；我曾在他们眼前把以色列人领出来。

耶和华显明了他的救恩，在列国眼前显示了他的公义。他记念他向以色列家所应许的慈爱和信实，地的四极都看见我们神的救恩。

既然他们的过犯可以使世人富足，他们的失败可以使外族人富足，何况他们的丰盛呢？

向我们列祖施怜悯，记念他的圣约，就是他对我们祖先亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

我举手起誓要给亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的地，我必领你们进去；我也必把那地赐给你们作产业；我是耶和华。’”

“我是耶和华你的神，曾经把你从埃及地，从为奴之家领出来。

就福音来说，因你们的缘故，他们是仇敌；就拣选来说，因祖宗的缘故，他们是蒙爱的。因为神的恩赏和呼召是决不会反悔的。

然而我为了我名的缘故没有这样作，免得我的名在列国的人眼中被亵渎；我曾在他们眼前把以色列人领出来。

神听见他们的呼声，就记念他与亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的约。

我必使你成为大国，赐福给你，使你的名为大，你也必使别人得福，

我要与你，和你世世代代的后裔，坚立我的约，成为永远的约，使我作你和你的后裔的神。我要把你现在寄居的地，就是迦南全地，赐给你和你的后裔，作永远的产业，我也要作他们的神。”

现在你们若是实在听我的话，遵守我的约，你们就必在万民中作属我的产业，因为全地都是我的。你们要归我作君尊的祭司和圣洁的国民。’这些话你都要对以色列人说。”

可是直到今日，他们每逢诵读摩西的书的时候，这帕子还盖在他们的心上。但他们什么时候归向主，这帕子就什么时候除掉了。

至于他们，如果不是继续不信，他们仍然会被接上去，因为神能够把他们再接上去。你这从野生的橄榄树上砍下来的，尚且可以不自然地接在栽种的橄榄树上，那些本来就有的树枝，不是更能够接在原来的橄榄树上吗？弟兄们，我不愿意你们对这奥秘一无所知，免得你们自以为聪明。这奥秘就是以色列人当中有一部分是硬心的，直到外族人的全数满了；这样，全以色列都要得救，如经上所记：“拯救者必从锡安出来，除掉雅各家的不敬虔的心；
