Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up[ any] image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I[ am] the LORD your God.

“你们不可做什么虚无的神像，不可立雕刻的偶像或是柱像，也不可在你们的地上安什么錾成的石像，向它跪拜，因为我是耶和华你们的神。

“‘ Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.

“‘ Do not make statues of gods for yourselves. Do not set up a likeness of a god or a sacred stone for yourselves. Do not place a carved stone in your land and bow down in front of it. I am the Lord your God.

“ You shall not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you shall not set up a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God.

“ Do not make idols or set up carved images, or sacred pillars, or sculptured stones in your land so you may worship them. I am the Lord your God.

“ Do not make worthless idols for yourselves, set up a carved image or sacred pillar for yourselves, or place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the LORD your God.

‘ You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves a carved image or a memorial stone, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God.

‘ You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God.

“‘ You must not make for yourselves idols, so you must not set up for yourselves a carved image or a pillar, and you must not place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down before it, for I am the LORD your God.

“‘ You shall make for yourselves no idols, and you shall not raise up a carved image or a pillar, and you shall not place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am Yahweh your God.

Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I[ am] the LORD your God.

Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.

Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.Neither shalt thou set thee up[ any] image; which the LORD thy God hateth.

Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

Cursed[ be] the man that maketh[ any] graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth[ it] in[ a] secret[ place]. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

Thou shalt not make thee[ any] graven image,[ or] any likeness[ of any thing] that[ is] in heaven above, or that[ is] in the earth beneath, or that[ is] in the waters beneath the earth:Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God[ am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth[ generation] of them that hate me,

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by[ the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

They that make a graven image[ are] all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they[ are] their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image[ that] is profitable for nothing?Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they[ are] of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up;[ yet] they shall fear,[ and] they shall be ashamed together.The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.The carpenter stretcheth out[ his] rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish[ it].Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth[ it], and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth[ it]; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth[ himself], and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:And the residue thereof he maketh a god,[ even] his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth[ it], and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou[ art] my god.They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see;[ and] their hearts, that they cannot understand.And none considereth in his heart, neither[ is there] knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten[ it]: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say,[ Is there] not a lie in my right hand?

Lest ye corrupt[ yourselves], and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,The likeness of any beast that[ is] on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that[ is] in the waters beneath the earth:And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars,[ even] all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made[ each one] for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

For without[ are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Their idols[ are] silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.They that make them are like unto them;[ so is] every one that trusteth in them.

I have even from the beginning declared[ it] to thee; before it came to pass I shewed[ it] thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare[ it]? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time[ that] thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?But I[ say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

For the customs of the people[ are] vain: for[ one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.They[ are] upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also[ is it] in them to do good.Forasmuch as[ there is] none like unto thee, O LORD; thou[ art] great, and thy name[ is] great in might.Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise[ men] of the nations, and in all their kingdoms,[ there is] none like unto thee.But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock[ is] a doctrine of vanities.

Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all[ ye] gods.

Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
