The Lord said to Moses at Mount Sinai,

The Lord spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai. He said,

Yahweh said to Moses in Mount Sinai,

These two women serve as an illustration of God’s two covenants. The first woman, Hagar, represents Mount Sinai where people received the law that enslaved them.And now Jerusalem is just like Mount Sinai in Arabia, because she and her children live in slavery to the law.

A year after Israel’s departure from Egypt, the Lord spoke to Moses in the Tabernacle in the wilderness of Sinai. On the first day of the second month of that year he said,

In the second year after Israel’s departure from Egypt— on the twentieth day of the second month— the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle of the Covenant.So the Israelites set out from the wilderness of Sinai and traveled on from place to place until the cloud stopped in the wilderness of Paran.

Exactly two months after the Israelites left Egypt, they arrived in the wilderness of Sinai.
