告以色列族云、耶和華之節期、汝當宣告為聖會、

告以色列族、我之節期、是為聖會、有常例焉。

“ Speak to the Israelites and say to them:‘ These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.

“ Speak to the Israelites. Tell them,‘ Here are my appointed feast days. They are the appointed feast days of the Lord. Tell the people that they must come together for these sacred assemblies.

“ Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, These are the appointed feasts of the Lord that you shall proclaim as holy convocations; they are my appointed feasts.

“ Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as official days for holy assembly.

“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them: These are my appointed times, the times of the LORD that you will proclaim as sacred assemblies.

“ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations— My appointed times are these:

“ Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them:‘ The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, The set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts.

“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them: These are My appointed times, the times of the Lord that you will proclaim as sacred assemblies.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,[ Concerning] the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim[ to be] holy convocations,[ even] these[ are] my feasts.

“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them,‘ These are the LORD’s appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies– my appointed times:

“ Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them,‘ The set feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts.

“‘ These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: (niv)

(“‘ These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offerings to the Lord— the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings required for each day. (niv)

Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival; (niv)

I will stop all her celebrations: her yearly festivals, her New Moons, her Sabbath days— all her appointed festivals. (niv)

“ Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me.“ Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread; for seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Aviv, for in that month you came out of Egypt.“ No one is to appear before me empty-handed.“ Celebrate the Festival of Harvest with the firstfruits of the crops you sow in your field.“ Celebrate the Festival of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field.“ Three times a year all the men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord. Also at your times of rejoicing— your appointed festivals and New Moon feasts— you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the Lord your God.” (niv)

The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust.This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh:“ By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” (niv)

Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. (niv)
