“‘ Priests must not shave their heads or shave off the edges of their beards or cut their bodies.

They shall not make bald patches on their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuts on their body.

They shall not shave any area on their heads bald, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuts in their flesh.

They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

“ Priests may not make bald spots on their heads, shave the edge of their beards, or make gashes on their bodies.

爾皆係爾上帝耶和華之子、毋為死者薙髮割肉、

勿薙首、勿長髮、惟修以翦、

首之四周勿薙、鬚之四周勿損、勿為死者割肉、勿黥爾身、為我耶和華所禁。

吉日變為愁慘之時、謳歌變為悲傷之語、各束以麻、各薙其髮、終日哀哭、若喪獨子。

摩押人登巴益、底本崇邱、哭泣不勝、鬚髮盡薙、為尼破、米底巴之遭難、號呼靡已、

今萬有之主耶和華、頒厥詔命、使爾號哭、薙髮衣麻、

自尊達卑、皆死斯土、無人瘞埋、無人哭泣、不為之薙髮、不為之割肉。

摩西諭亞倫、及其子以利亞撒、以大馬、曰、爾曹既沐耶和華之香膏、毋露爾首、毋裂爾衣、毋出會幕、恐爾死亡、怒及庶民、惟以色列族、可因耶和華火之所燬、哀哭不勝。亞倫及其子乃遵摩西命。○

彼鬚髮盡薙、指掌毀傷、腰束麻帶。

猶大地乎、爾之愛子、為人俘囚、故當去爾髮、童爾首、與神鷹無異。
