掃羅就對臣僕說：『要為我尋找一個有特質能交鬼的女人，我好去見她，去尋問她。』臣僕說：『看哪，在隱多珥有一個有特質能交鬼的女人呢。』於是掃羅化了裝，穿上別的衣服就走，有兩個人跟隨他，夜裏去見那女人，說：『請為我用交鬼法術、將我所告訴你的死者、給我招上來。』那女人對他說：『哎，你自己也知道掃羅所作的：他怎樣從國中剪滅了交鬼的和行巫術的；你為甚麼設了陷阱要害我的性命於死地呢？』

『你不可容行邪術的女人活着。

在你中間不可有人將兒子或女兒用火燒獻為祭，也不可有占卜的、算命的、觀兆頭的、行邪術的、用迷術的、問交鬼的、行巫術的、過陰的。因為凡行這些事的、都是永恆主所憎惡的；也正是因了這些可厭惡之事的緣故，永恆主你的上帝才把他們從你面前趕出。
