God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all[ them that are] about him.

And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in[ them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy[ place] within the vail before the mercy seat, which[ is] upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.

And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.

Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew[ it] not.And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful[ is] this place! this[ is] none other but the house of God, and this[ is] the gate of heaven.

For the time[ is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if[ it] first[ begin] at us, what shall the end[ be] of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This[ is it] that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that[ is] among them.

Slay utterly old[ and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom[ is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which[ were] before the house.
