基甸對他們說：“我所行的怎能比得上你們呢？在以法蓮拾取剩下的葡萄，不是比在亞比以謝收摘的葡萄更好嗎？

我有禍了！因為我好像夏天採摘的果子，又像摘剩的葡萄，沒有一掛可吃的，也沒有我心所想望早熟的無花果。

竊賊若來到你那裡，強盜若夜間來到，豈不會偷竊直到夠了呢？你將會怎樣被滅絕！摘葡萄的若來到你那裡，豈不只剩下幾粒葡萄嗎？

在地上的萬民，都像搖過的橄欖樹，又像被摘取完了的葡萄樹，剩下無幾。

收取葡萄的若來到你那裡，豈不剩下一些葡萄嗎？盜賊若在夜間來到你那裡，豈不是只偷他們所要的嗎（“豈不是只偷他們所要的嗎”或譯：“豈不毀壞直到夠了嗎”）？
