基甸对他们说：“我所行的怎能比得上你们呢？在以法莲拾取剩下的葡萄，不是比在亚比以谢收摘的葡萄更好吗？

我有祸了！因为我好像夏天采摘的果子，又像摘剩的葡萄，没有一挂可吃的，也没有我心所想望早熟的无花果。

窃贼若来到你那里，强盗若夜间来到，岂不会偷窃直到够了呢？你将会怎样被灭绝！摘葡萄的若来到你那里，岂不只剩下几粒葡萄吗？

在地上的万民，都像摇过的橄榄树，又像被摘取完了的葡萄树，剩下无几。

收取葡萄的若来到你那里，岂不剩下一些葡萄吗？盗贼若在夜间来到你那里，岂不是只偷他们所要的吗（“岂不是只偷他们所要的吗”或译：“岂不毁坏直到够了吗”）？
