You must not leave the Tabernacle entrance for seven days, for that is when the ordination ceremony will be completed.

So if you touch the man’s bed, you must wash your clothes and bathe yourself in water, and you will remain unclean until evening.

“ When the woman’s bleeding stops, she must count off seven days. Then she will be ceremonially clean.

After the ordination ceremony, on the eighth day, Moses called together Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel.

You will be my people, and I will be your God.I will cleanse you of your filthy behavior. I will give you good crops of grain, and I will send no more famines on the land.

“ On the eighth day each person being purified must bring two male lambs and a one year old female lamb, all with no defects, along with a grain offering of six quarts of choice flour moistened with olive oil, and a cup of olive oil.

“ This is how you will ordain Aaron and his sons to their offices, just as I have commanded you. The ordination ceremony will go on for seven days.

I will cleanse them of their sins against me and forgive all their sins of rebellion.

Purify the altar, and consecrate it every day for seven days. After that, the altar will be absolutely holy, and whatever touches it will become holy.

But the Lord said to Moses,“ If her father had done nothing more than spit in her face, wouldn’t she be defiled for seven days? So keep her outside the camp for seven days, and after that she may be accepted back.”

“ All those who touch a dead human body will be ceremonially unclean for seven days.They must purify themselves on the third and seventh days with the water of purification; then they will be purified. But if they do not do this on the third and seventh days, they will continue to be unclean even after the seventh day.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
