“ Then the priest will offer the two turtledoves or the two young pigeons, whichever the person can afford.

然后献上那人按自己能力带来的两只斑鸠或雏鸽，

那人就要按着自己的经济能力献上一只斑鸠，或是一只雏鸽。

又獻其力所能備之鳲鳩、或雛鴿、

Then he shall sacrifice the doves or the young pigeons, such as the person can afford,

And he shall offer, of the turtledoves or pigeons, whichever he can afford,

He is to then sacrifice one type of what he can afford, either the turtledoves or young pigeons,

He shall then offer one of the turtledoves or young doves, which are within his means.

And he shall offer one of the turtledoves or young pigeons, such as he can afford—

And he shall offer one of the turtle- doves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to get,

He must then sacrifice one type of what he can afford, either the turtledoves or young pigeons,

And he shall offer the one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he can get;

“ He will then make one of the turtledoves or young pigeons, which are within his means,

He shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, which ever he is able to afford,

The offering must also include two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever the person can afford. One of the pair must be used for the sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

“ If a woman cannot afford to bring a lamb, she must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons. One will be for the burnt offering and the other for the purification offering. The priest will sacrifice them to purify her, and she will be ceremonially clean.”

On the eighth day he must get two turtledoves or two young pigeons and come before the Lord at the entrance of the Tabernacle and give his offerings to the priest.The priest will offer one bird for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. Through this process, the priest will purify the man before the Lord for his discharge.

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of the Lord—“ either a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”
