And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers,backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,without understanding, covenant- breakers, without natural affection, unmerciful:who, knowing the ordinance of God, that they that practise such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with them that practise them.

Set the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle he cometh against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier- eagle, and the ospray,and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind,and every raven after its kind,and the ostrich, and the night- hawk, and the sea- mew, and the hawk after its kind,the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl,and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant,and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.And all winged creeping things are unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.Of all clean birds ye may eat.

Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves; and their horsemen press proudly on: yea, their horsemen come from far; they fly as an eagle that hasteth to devour.

Is it at thy command that the eagle mounteth up, And maketh her nest on high?On the cliff she dwelleth, and maketh her home, Upon the point of the cliff, and the stronghold.From thence she spieth out the prey; Her eyes behold it afar off.Her young ones also suck up blood: And where the slain are, there is she.

That path no bird of prey knoweth, Neither hath the falcon’s eye seen it:

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as the whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are ruined.

For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.

Who provideth for the raven his prey, When his young ones cry unto God, And wander for lack of food?

For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens: They chased us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
