我的眼使我傷痛，都因我本城眾民的緣故。

緣我邑中諸女、觸目而傷心兮、

邑民淪喪、我淚盈睫、至於患疾兮。

我為我邑之諸女、心傷目痛、心傷目痛或作我目之淚使我心傷

What I see brings grief to my soul because of all the women of my city.

What I see brings pain to my spirit. All the women of my city are mourning.

My heart is breaking over the fate of all the women of Jerusalem.

My eyes bring me grief because of the fate of all the women in my city.

On the ground in the streets Lie young and old; My virgins and my young men Have fallen by the sword. You have put them to death on the day of Your anger, You have slaughtered, without sparing.

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,saying,“ If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.For the days will come upon you when your enemies will put up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire, and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive.Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep.

“ The Lord is righteous, For I have rebelled against His command; Hear now, all peoples, And see my pain; My virgins and my young men Have gone into captivity.

They violated the women in Zion, The virgins in the cities of Judah.

And I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh during the siege and in the hardship with which their enemies and those who seek their life will torment them.” ’

therefore, this is what the Lord of armies says:“ Behold, I am going to punish them! The young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters will die by famine;

And the people to whom they are prophesying will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and there will be no one to bury them— neither them, nor their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters. For I will pour out their own wickedness upon them.
