蹂躪俘囚、罔上陷人、屈害平民者、俱主所不悅兮。

To crush underfoot all prisoners in the land,

Every time people crush prisoners under their feet, the Lord knows all about it.

To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the earth,

If people crush underfoot all the prisoners of the land,

Crushing all the prisoners of the land beneath one’s feet,

To crush under one’s feet All the prisoners of the land,

To crush under one’s feet All the prisoners of the earth,

Crushing all the prisoners of the land beneath one’s feet,

To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

To crush underfoot all the earth’s prisoners,

To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,

As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant I have set free thy prisoners from the pit wherein is no water.Turn you to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope: even to- day do I declare that I will render double unto thee.

Thus saith thy Lord Jehovah, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; thou shalt no more drink it again:and I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee, that have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over; and thou hast laid thy back as the ground, and as the street, to them that go over.

saying to them that are bound, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.

For Jehovah heareth the needy, And despiseth not his prisoners.

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing- floor at the time when it is trodden; yet a little while, and the time of harvest shall come for her.Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath, like a monster, swallowed me up, he hath filled his maw with my delicacies; he hath cast me out.The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and, My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.

To hear the sighing of the prisoner; To loose those that are appointed to death;

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together; and all that took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to let them go.Their Redeemer is strong; Jehovah of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee: According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;

that made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; that let not loose his prisoners to their home?

Israel is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first, the king of Assyria devoured him; and now at last Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
