Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the Lord.

因為以色列人也要許多年日過着靜居守己的生活；沒有王、沒有首領、沒有祭祀、沒有聖柱、沒有以弗得、沒有家神像。

以色列人沒有可信可靠的上帝，沒有指教他們的祭司，沒有禮節的規矩、已有好多年日了；

他們對我說：『那些沒有被擄的餘民在猶大省那裏遭大患難，受凌辱；耶路撒冷的城牆拆了破口，城門又被火焚燒。』

禍患加上禍患，風聲接連風聲；人必向神言人尋求異象之傳講，但禮節的規矩已從祭司那裏滅沒了，籌謀計畫已從長老那裏斷絕了。

故此必給你們黑夜，全無異象，必給你們黑暗，全無占卜。向「神言人」們、日必落了，對「神言人」們、白晝必變為黑暗了。見異象者必抱愧，占卜者必蒙羞；他們都必摀着上嘴脣而哀悼，因為上帝不應他們。

我們的標幟我們不見了；不再有神言人了；我們中間也沒有人知道這災禍要到幾時。

『永恆主必將你和你所立來管你的王領到你和你列祖素來不認識的國去；在那裏你必事奉別的神、是木頭石頭的。

巴比倫的勇士停止了爭戰；在營寨裏呆着；他們的勇力都衰盡了；他們都變得像婦人女子。巴比倫的居所有火着起；其門閂都折斷了。

主永恆主發神諭說：『看吧，日子必到，我必打發饑荒到地上，可不是想喫食物的饑荒，也不是想喝水的口渴，乃是想聽永恆主之話的饑荒。人必流離飄蕩、從這海到那海，從北邊到東邊，跑來跑去、尋求永恆主的話，卻尋不着。

我必將我的網撒在他身上，他必在我的網羅中被捉住；我要把他帶到巴比倫，在那裏判罰他對我不忠實的罪。

迦勒底人的軍隊追趕了王，在耶利哥的原野把西底家追上；他的全軍都離開他潰散了。迦勒底人將王捉住，把他帶上哈馬地的利比拉巴比倫王那裏；巴比倫王就宣佈判語定他的罪。

王的宮殿和人民的房屋、迦勒底人都放火焚燒；耶路撒冷的城牆他們都拆毁了。

猶大王約雅斤出來投降巴比倫王，他和他母親、臣僕、大臣和內侍都出來；巴比倫王便拿住他，那是巴比倫王在位第八年。巴比倫王將永恆主之殿的一切寶物和王宮的寶物都從那裏取出來，又把以色列王所羅門在永恆主殿堂所造的一切金器都砍壞了，正如永恆主所說過的。他又使耶路撒冷眾人、眾大臣、和一切有力氣英勇的人、共一萬名、連一切匠人、鐵匠、都去過着流亡的生活；除了國中之民極貧寒的以外、沒有剩下的。他使約雅斤流亡到巴比倫去；也使王母王妃和王的內侍、以及國中的權貴、都從耶路撒冷流亡到巴比倫。一切有力氣的人、七千名、和匠人鐵匠一千人、這一切能作戰的勇士、巴比倫王都使他們流亡到巴比倫去。

猶大因遭遇苦難，又因多作苦工，就流亡外邦；她住在列國中，尋不着安居之地；追逼她的、都在她困苦時將她追上。

又在西底家眼前將他兒子們都宰殺掉，並將西底家一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他，帶到巴比倫去。

我必將我的網撒在他身上，他必在我的網羅中被捉住；我必將他帶到巴比倫、迦勒底人之地；但是那地他是看不見的；他也必死在那裏。

於是永恆主對我說：『那些神言人是冒我名傳虛假為神言的；我並沒有差遣他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們發神言狂的乃是虛假的異象、無用的占卜、和他們自己心裏的詭詐。

我們的活氣、永恆主所膏立的王、在敵人的陷坑中被捉住；卻是我們曾經說到：『我們在列國中要在他蔭庇下活着』的。

西底家十一年四月九日、城被攻破。

耶路撒冷四圍所有的城牆、那跟從護衛長的迦勒底人軍隊都給拆毁了。

他們自己喊着說：『躲開！不潔淨，躲開！躲開！不要觸着！』他們既飄蕩又流離，人在列國中就說：『他們不可仍在這裏居住哦！』
