因為以色列人也要獨居多日；沒有君王，沒有領袖，沒有祭祀，沒有柱像，沒有以弗得，也沒有家中的神像。

以色列人沒有真神，沒有教導他們的祭司，沒有律法，已經很久了。

因此你們只有黑夜，沒有異象，只有黑暗，沒有默示。對先知，日頭要下落，為他們，白日變為黑暗。先見必抱愧，得默示的人要蒙羞；他們都必掩著上唇，因為沒有神的答覆。

我們看不見我們的記號，也不再有先知；我們中間也沒有人知道這災禍要到幾時。

耶和華必把你和你所立統治你的君王，領到你和你的列祖都不認識的國那裡去；在那裡你必事奉別的神，就是木頭石頭所做的神。

巴比倫的勇士停止作戰，留在堡壘裡面；他們的勇士消退，變成像婦人一樣軟弱。巴比倫的房屋被火焚燒，她的門閂都被折斷。

猶大王約雅斤和他的母親、眾臣僕、眾領袖，以及眾太監，出城投降巴比倫王。巴比倫王於是捉住他。那時，是巴比倫王在位第八年。他又從耶路撒冷把耶和華殿一切寶物和王宮的寶物取去，並且把以色列王所羅門在耶和華殿所做的一切金器都搗毀，就像耶和華所說的。他又擄去耶路撒冷的眾民、眾領袖，以及英勇的戰士共一萬人，還有工匠、鐵匠；除了國民中最貧窮的以外，沒有剩下的。他把約雅斤擄到巴比倫去，又把太后、后妃、太監和國中的要員都從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫；還有七千位戰士，一千位工匠和鐵匠，全都是能作戰的勇士，巴比倫王把他們都擄到巴比倫去。

猶大受盡痛苦，飽經勞役，更遭流徙異地。她住在列國中，找不著安居之所。在困境之中，追趕她的人把她追上了。

他們又在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然後用銅鍊鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。

我要把我的網撒在他身上，他必被我的網羅網住；我要把他帶到巴比倫，就是迦勒底人之地；他不會看見那地，卻要死在那裡。

耶和華對我說：“那些先知借我的名說假預言；我並沒有差遣他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有向他們說話。他們對你們所預言的，是虛假的異象、占卜的預兆、虛無的事，和他們自己心裡的詭詐。”

耶和華所膏立的，我們鼻孔的氣息，在他們的陷坑中被捉住；我們論到他曾說：“我們要在他的蔭庇之下，在列國中存活。”

西底家第十一年四月九日，城被攻破。

跟隨護衛長的迦勒底人全軍拆毀了耶路撒冷周圍所有的城牆。

有人向他們喊叫：“走開！你們不潔的人；走開！走開！不要觸摸我。”他們到處逃亡飄流的時候，列國的人就說：“他們再不能在這裡寄居。”
