He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The Lord has made Zion forget her appointed festivals and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.

The Lord’ s temple was like a garden. But he completely destroyed it. He destroyed the place where he used to meet with his people. He made Zion’s people forget their appointed feasts and Sabbath days. When he was very angry, he turned his back on king and priest alike.

He has laid waste his booth like a garden, laid in ruins his meeting place; the Lord has made Zion forget festival and Sabbath, and in his fierce indignation has spurned king and priest.

He has broken down his Temple as though it were merely a garden shelter. The Lord has blotted out all memory of the holy festivals and Sabbath days. Kings and priests fall together before his fierce anger.

He has wrecked his temple as if it were merely a shack in a field, destroying his place of meeting. The LORD has abolished appointed festivals and Sabbaths in Zion. He has despised king and priest in his fierce anger.

And He has treated His tabernacle violently, like a despised garden; He has destroyed His appointed meeting place. The Lord has caused The appointed feast and Sabbath in Zion to be forgotten, And He has despised king and priest In the indignation of His anger.

不要再帶虛浮的供物來了；獻祭的燻氣是我所厭惡；月初一和安息日、聚會之召集——禁食和聖節會、我容忍不住。

惡人為甚麼大踏步進你的聖地？而我們的敵人竟踐踏你的聖所呢？

首領手被綁住，人被吊起，人對老年人並不尊敬。

我們那聖而榮美的殿、我們列祖頌讚你的所在、都給火燒了；我們所喜愛的盡都荒廢了。

如今我告訴你們我要怎樣處理我的葡萄園。我要把它的籬笆撤去，使它被吞喫；我要把它的圍牆拆個破口，使它被踐踏。

並將西底家的一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他；巴比倫王將他帶到巴比倫去，給下在牢獄裏，直到他死的日子。五月十日、就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒王十九年、侍立在巴比倫王面前的護衛長尼布撒拉旦來到耶路撒冷。他把永恆主的殿和王的宮室都燒掉，也燒了耶路撒冷一切的房屋，連大幢的房屋都放火燒。耶路撒冷四圍所有的城牆、那跟從護衛長的迦勒底人軍隊都給拆毁了。城裏剩下的餘民、和那些投降了巴比倫王的人、以及餘剩的大眾或匠人、護衛長尼布撒拉旦、都使他們流亡了去。但是護衛長仍然將猶大地最貧寒的一些人留下來做修理葡萄園和種地的人。永恆主之殿的銅柱、和永恆主殿裏的盆座和銅海、迦勒底人都打碎了，將那銅運到巴比倫去。他們又將鍋、鏟子、蠟燭剪子、碗、碟子、和供職用的一切銅器、都拿了去；碗盆、火鼎、碗、鍋、臺燈、碟子、大盆、無論金的銀的、護衛長也都拿它當做金子銀子帶了去。至於所羅門王為永恆主之殿所造的兩根銅柱、一個銅海、和海以下的十二隻銅牛，十個盆座：這一切器皿的銅、其重量無法可稱。那些柱子，有一根高有十八肘，其周線有十二肘，其厚有四個指頭那麼厚；當中是空的。柱上有銅柱斗；一個柱斗高五肘；柱斗上四圍有網子和石榴，都是銅的；另一根柱子像這一樣，也有石榴。柱子有九十六個石榴是在外面、向着四方的；在網子四圍共有一百石榴。護衛長拿住祭司長西萊雅、副祭司西番亞、和三個把守門檻的；又從城裏拿住一個管理軍兵的官、和在城裏所遇見常見王面的七個人、跟檢閱國中之民的軍長書記官、以及城裏遇見的國中之民六十人。護衛長尼布撒拉旦將這些人帶到利比拉巴比倫王那裏。巴比倫王擊殺了他們，把他們殺死在哈馬地的利比拉。這樣、猶大人就流亡、離開他們的本地。
