我因這些事哭泣，眼淚汪汪；因為那安慰我、使我重新得力的，離我甚遠。我的兒女孤苦，因為仇敵得勝了。

他的弓箭手圍繞我。他刺破我的腎臟，並不留情，把我的膽汁傾倒在地上。

耶和華啊，求你觀看，因為我在急難中；我的心腸煩亂，我心在我裏面翻轉，因我大大背逆。在外，刀劍使人喪亡；在家，猶如死亡。

因此我說：「不要看我，讓我痛哭吧！不要因我百姓的毀滅竭力安慰我。」

我如水被倒出，我的骨頭都脫了節，我的心如蠟，在我裏面熔化。

我的肺腑啊，我的肺腑啊，我心疼痛！我的心在我裏面煩躁不安。我不能靜默不言，因我已聽見角聲和打仗的喊聲。

我的眼睛因憂愁而昏花，因敵人的緣故，我的眼目模糊不清。

因我百姓遭毀滅，我的眼睛淚流成河。我的眼睛流淚不停，流淚不止，直等到耶和華垂顧，從天上觀看。為我城中的百姓，我眼所見的使我心痛。

被刀劍刺殺的勝過因飢餓而死的；飢餓者由於缺乏田裏的出產就消瘦而亡。當我百姓遭毀滅的時候，慈心的婦人親手烹煮自己的兒女為食物。

夜間每逢時辰開始，要起來呼喊，在主面前傾心吐意如水。你的孩童在街頭上挨餓昏厥，你要為他們的性命向主舉手。耶和華啊，求你觀看，留意你向誰這樣行。婦人豈可吃自己所生、所撫育的嬰孩嗎？祭司和先知豈可在主的聖所中被殺嗎？

現在耶和華－萬軍之上帝、以色列的上帝如此說：你們為何做這大惡自害己命，使你們的男人、婦女、孩童和吃奶的都從猶大剪除，不留一人呢？

大衛和跟隨他的百姓就放聲大哭，直到沒有氣力再哭。

我像燕子呢喃，像白鶴鳴叫，又如鴿子哀鳴；我因仰望，眼睛困倦。主啊，我受欺壓，求你為我作保。

野狗尚且哺乳其子，我百姓的婦人反倒殘忍，如曠野的鴕鳥一般；吃奶孩子的舌頭因乾渴貼住上膛，孩童求餅，卻無人擘給他們。

聽啊，是我百姓呼救的聲音從遠地傳來：「耶和華不是在錫安嗎？錫安的王不是在其中嗎？」「他們為甚麼以自己雕刻的偶像和外邦虛無的神明惹我發怒呢？」「秋收已過，夏季已完，我們還未得救！」因我百姓的損傷，我也受了損傷。我哀慟，驚惶將我抓住。在基列豈沒有乳香呢？在那裏豈沒有醫生呢？我百姓為何得不着醫治呢？但願我的頭為水，我的眼為淚水的泉源，我好為我百姓中被殺的人晝夜哭泣。

耶和華啊，求你憐憫我，因為我在急難之中；我的眼睛因憂愁而昏花，我的身心也已耗盡。

因為日子將到，人要說：『不生育的、未曾懷孕的，和未曾哺乳孩子的有福了！』

我因呼求困乏，喉嚨發乾；我因等候上帝，眼睛失明。

你要向他們說這些話：願我眼淚汪汪，晝夜不息，因為少女－我百姓受了重大的打擊，傷口極其嚴重。
