從前主曾儘一次地救了他的人民出埃及地，後來又叫不信的人滅亡；這一切事你們雖都知道了，我的意思還是要提醒你們記得。

你們雖然知道這一切，我還想提醒你們：主一次性地把子民從埃及地救了出來，後來把那些不信的人都毀滅了，

爾雖悉知之、我今欲令爾憶之、即主救民出埃及地、後滅其不信者、

維爾知之素、欲俾爾憶之、昔主救民出埃及地、後滅諸不信者、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

予茲所欲言者、無非爾所習聞素諳、第欲予爾以警惕耳。在昔主既拯斯民於埃及、厥後其中有狐疑不信者、主乃予以消滅。

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

I want to remind you about some things you already know. The Lord saved his people. At one time he brought them out of Egypt. But later he destroyed those who did not believe.

Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.

Now I want to remind you, although you came to know all these things once and for all, that Jesus saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe;

Now I want to remind you, though you know everything once and for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.

But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

Not one of them was among those counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Desert of Sinai.For the Lord had told those Israelites they would surely die in the wilderness, and not one of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. (niv)

not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times—not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.Since the Amalekites and the Canaanites are living in the valleys, turn back tomorrow and set out toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea.”The Lord said to Moses and Aaron:“ How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites.So tell them,‘ As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say:In this wilderness your bodies will fall— every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected.But as for you, your bodies will fall in this wilderness.Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness.For forty years— one year for each of the forty days you explored the land— you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.’I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.”So the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it—these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the Lord. (niv)

Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. (niv)

So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the wilderness, (niv)

The Lord’s hand was against them until he had completely eliminated them from the camp.Now when the last of these fighting men among the people had died, (niv)

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.They all ate the same spiritual foodand drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written:“ The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did— and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.We should not test Christ, as some of them did— and were killed by snakes.And do not grumble, as some of them did— and were killed by the destroying angel.These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! (niv)

Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. (niv)

Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me (niv)

So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, (niv)
