從前主曾儘一次地救了他的人民出埃及地，後來又叫不信的人滅亡；這一切事你們雖都知道了，我的意思還是要提醒你們記得。

爾雖悉知之、我今欲令爾憶之、即主救民出埃及地、後滅其不信者、

維爾知之素、欲俾爾憶之、昔主救民出埃及地、後滅諸不信者、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

予茲所欲言者、無非爾所習聞素諳、第欲予爾以警惕耳。在昔主既拯斯民於埃及、厥後其中有狐疑不信者、主乃予以消滅。

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

I want to remind you about some things you already know. The Lord saved his people. At one time he brought them out of Egypt. But later he destroyed those who did not believe.

Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.

到底是誰聽見卻悖逆了呢？難道不是被摩西從埃及帶領出來的那一切人嗎？神又向誰發怒了四十年之久呢？難道不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？他又向誰起誓說，他們絕不能進入他的安息呢？難道不是向那些不肯信從的人嗎？這樣我們就看出來：他們不能進入，是因不信的緣故。所以，既然那進入神安息的應許還存留，我們就該懼怕，免得我們當中有人看來達不到了。實際上，我們也是得以聽到福音的，就像他們那樣；但是他們所聽的話語對他們沒有益處，因為他們沒有因著信，與所聽的相配合。

所以他針對他們舉手起誓，要使他們倒在曠野中，

弟兄們，我不願意你們不明白：我們的祖先曾經都在那雲彩之下，都從那海中經過，並且都在那雲裡和海裡受洗歸於摩西。他們都吃了同樣的屬靈食物，也都喝了同樣的屬靈之水。原來他們所喝的是出於那隨著他們的屬靈磐石；那磐石就是基督。但是神不喜悅他們中的大多數人，所以他們倒斃在曠野。這些事的發生，是為了我們的鑒戒，好使我們不像他們成為貪戀惡事的人。你們也不可像他們中的有些人那樣，成為拜偶像的，正如經上所記：「民眾坐下吃喝，起來玩樂。」我們也不可行淫亂，像他們中的有些人行淫亂，結果一天就倒斃了兩萬三千人。我們也不可試探基督，像他們中的有些人試探了，結果就被蛇所滅。你們也不可抱怨，像他們中的有些人抱怨了，結果就被那毀滅者所滅。這些事發生在他們身上，做為鑒戒；並且被記載下來，是為了警戒我們這些面臨萬世結局的人。所以，那自以為站得住的，應該當心，免得跌倒。

各位蒙愛的人哪，這已經是我寫給你們的第二封信。在這兩封信中，我都用提醒的話來激發你們純潔的意念，

不過我要提醒你們，藉著神所賜給我的恩典，我在部分地方寫得比較大膽。

所以，雖然你們已經知道這些事，又在你們已有的真理上得了堅固，我還是要不斷地提醒你們。我認為，只要我還在這帳篷裡，就理當用提醒的話來激發你們，
