Then Joshua summoned the Gibeonites and said,“ Why did you deceive us by saying,‘ We live a long way from you,’ while actually you live near us?

Joshua sent for the people of Gibeon. He said to them,“ Why did you trick us? You said,‘ We live far away from you.’ But in fact you live close to us.

Joshua summoned them, and he said to them,“ Why did you deceive us, saying,‘ We are very far from you,’ when you dwell among us?

Joshua called together the Gibeonites and said,“ Why did you lie to us? Why did you say that you live in a distant land when you live right here among us?

Joshua summoned the Gibeonites and said to them,“ Why did you deceive us by telling us you live far away from us, when in fact you live among us?

Then Joshua called for them and spoke to them, saying,“ Why have you deceived us, saying,‘ We are very far from you,’ when you are living within our land?

And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?

Joshua summoned the Gibeonites and said to them,“ Why did you deceive us by telling us you live far away from us, when in fact you live among us?

Joshua summoned the Gibeonites and said to them,“ Why did you trick us by saying,‘ We live far away from you,’ when you really live nearby?

They went to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, and said to him and to the men of Israel,“ We have come from a far country. Now therefore make a covenant with us.”

At the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they lived among them.

In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban,“ What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

Then I will send, and get you from there. Why should I be bereaved of you both in one day?”

Yahweh God said to the woman,“ What have you done?” The woman said,“ The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”Yahweh God said to the serpent,“ Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. You shall go on your belly and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.

He said,“ Your brother came with deceit, and has taken away your blessing.”He said,“ Isn’t he rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright. See, now he has taken away my blessing.” He said,“ Haven’t you reserved a blessing for me?”

But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
