大衛召基遍人而問之、此基遍人、原不屬以色列人、乃屬所遺之亞摩利人、以色列人曾與之立誓不殺之、掃羅為以色列人及猶大人熱中欲滅之、或作掃羅忌彼與以色列人猶大人雜居欲滅之

除居基遍之希未人而外、無一邑之人、與以色列人和好、所有之邑、以色列人悉戰而取之、

今我待爾以仁慈、爾當指主而誓、亦以仁慈待我父家、並示我以誠信之證、必存留我父母兄弟姊妹及凡所有、救我生命、免於死亡、二人對曰、爾若不洩我此事、則我以己命代爾、迨主以斯地賜我民時、我必待爾以仁慈誠實、於是婦以繩縋二人由牖而下、蓋其室在城垣、居於城垣上、謂之曰、當往於山、在彼自匿三日、恐追者遇爾、迨追者返、然後前行、前行原文作行爾路二人對曰、爾使我所發之誓、我必守之而不失信、我儕至斯地時、爾即以此紅繩、繫於縋我之牖、當集爾父母兄弟、與爾父之眷屬、悉入爾室、凡出爾家門往外者、若遇害、死由自取、死由自取原文作其血必歸于其首我儕無辜、惟與爾在家者、有人害之、罪則歸我、罪則歸我原文作其血必歸我之首

毋與斯民及其神立約、

如我言、某邦某國、當敗當毀當滅、我所言之國、如改其惡行、則我亦改我旨、不降所欲降之災、

爾臨城攻之、先當宣告以和好、如以和好應爾、為爾啟邑門、則彼邑之民、必與爾納貢而服事爾、
