以色列人憑信心繞著耶利哥城走了七天，城牆就倒塌了。

以色列人看見耶和華的約櫃到了營中，就高聲歡呼，聲音震天動地。

我們爭戰的兵器不是屬血氣的，乃是從上帝而來的能力，可以摧毀堅固的營壘，擊破一切的謬論和阻礙人們認識上帝的驕傲言論，奪回被擄去的心思意念，使其順服基督。

祂必拆毀他們高大堅固的城牆，將其夷為平地、化為塵土。

以色列人和猶大人乘勢吶喊，追殺非利士人，直追到迦特和以革倫的城門。通往迦特和以革倫的沙拉音大道上到處是非利士人的屍體。

你們要從四面向她吶喊，她必投降，她的堡壘將傾倒，城牆將坍塌，因為耶和華要報應她。你們要向她復仇，她怎樣對待別人，你們也要怎樣對待她。

在你們的敵人被殺戮、城樓倒塌的日子，你們的高山岡陵上必有溪水奔流。

猶大人轉身，發現自己前後受敵，就呼求耶和華。祭司吹響號角，猶大人便吶喊，上帝使耶羅波安和以色列人敗在亞比雅和猶大人面前。

號角聲越來越嘹亮。摩西說話，上帝就回應他，聲音好像雷鳴。

走到第七次，祭司吹響了號角，約書亞吩咐民眾說：「吶喊吧！因為耶和華已經將這城交給你們了。

其餘的二百人也吹響號角，打破瓦瓶。他們左手舉著火把，右手拿著號角，高喊：「為耶和華和基甸而戰！」他們在敵營周圍各守其位，米甸全軍邊喊邊逃。基甸的三百人一起吹響號角時，耶和華使米甸人自相殘殺。他們逃往西利拉的伯·哈示他，一直逃到靠近他巴的亞伯·米何拉的邊境。

於是，民眾聽到號角聲時，就高聲呐喊，城牆便坍塌了。民眾便一擁而上，佔領了耶利哥城，

約沙法與眾人商議後，就派歌樂手穿上聖潔的禮服走在軍隊前面，讚美耶和華，說：「你們要稱謝耶和華，因祂的慈愛永遠長存！」他們開始唱歌讚美的時候，耶和華就派伏兵擊殺前來攻打猶大的亞捫人、摩押人和來自西珥山的人，打敗了他們。

大衛清早起來把羊交給一個牧人看顧，然後照父親的吩咐帶著食物出發了。他來到軍營的時候，大軍正吶喊著出戰。
