But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho— and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

Salmon was the father of Boaz( whose mother was Rahab). Boaz was the father of Obed( whose mother was Ruth). Obed was the father of Jesse.

Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road.

( Actually, she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them beneath bundles of flax she had laid out.)

But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

They confronted a man coming out of the town and said to him,“ Show us a way into the town, and we will have mercy on you.”So he showed them a way in, and they killed everyone in the town except that man and his family.

No one in this region made peace with the Israelites except the Hivites of Gibeon. All the others were defeated.For the Lord hardened their hearts and caused them to fight the Israelites. So they were completely destroyed without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Joshua also set up another pile of twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, at the place where the priests who carried the Ark of the Covenant were standing. And they are there to this day.
